Apple butter

2lbs of good cooking apples (we live right by Apple Farms) Blessing
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1 cups water
Sugar I used 1/2 a cup
brown suger 1/2 a cup
Salt 1/2 teaspoon
1 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon allspice
Grated rind and juice of 1/2 of 1 lemon

now this is just what I used alot of the recipes called for alot!! more suger
and other stuff but this is just how we make ours, super easy and my kids love it on toast

Peel, core, and cut up the apples. Combine with the water and cook until the apples are soft.
Add sugar, salt, spices, and if using, the juice and zest from a lemon. totally optional
Continue to cook over low heat, stirring frequently to prevent sticking until the mixture is very thick. (Test by scooping up a heaping spoonful. The mixture should keep its rounded shape and not flatten out.)
